Youtube addon not working anymore?
It's the same dev, but I think it's because it's an "alpha" version, that it hasn't been submitted to Kodi as an "official" update. If I find an add-on in the Kodi repo that I like, I do a search to see if the developer has a github account. You can usually find a newer version than what the "official" repo has. The Kodi repo is needed for dependencies, but isn't so great for video add-ons.

If anyone doesn't want to copy and paste, here is a zip of the video_info.py file from the github, you just have to unzip it and replace the file in the location specified by OP with this one.

Youtube addon doesn't play random videos
I believe there is a new add-on for matrix which does not need the personal API. Not updated to matrix myself so cannot confirm if it works. https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.video.tubed
