How to exit Plex menu while playback is happening in background?
I'm using plex-assistant to play media on my Shield in the Plex Client app, but what happens is the video starts, and about half a second later, the Plex client menu pops back up covering the screen (i.e. the browse media screen). However, the audio track of the video is still playing in the background.

If you also use Home Assistant, you can try https://github.com/maykar/plex_assistant. It works pretty well. Not perfect but works most of the time.

Other music services?
You can with Plex and Flex TV (which works with music, despite its name). The downside is that you're tinkering with your own media server and a 3rd party app, so it takes a bit of figuring out.

A common question, with no satisfying answer. There is this project but I when I was looking I didn't see great things and just stuck to using my phone or shield remote to play Plex content.
