How can I launch games using Locale Emulator directly from Playnite?
Yesterday I was struggling on how to make emulated games (which are directly started from Playnite from the get-go) to have Steam's overlay enabled, and also to be actually shown in the friends list. But I've learned you can install and use this extension for that to be possible.

Can not create desktop shortcut for non-steam games (Ubuntu 20.10/Linux)?
Ok, if you are somewhat technical and you want to help me figuring this out, I have a lead. Apparently you need to create a 64bit integer out of a crc32 checksum (derived from the name of the executable) and a fixed sequence afterwards. I found this out by looking at the source code of this playnite extension. Look for the "steam_URL" function, it's explained there. I tried to create it but it didn't work, however the extension seems to use a custom Crc class to create the checksums, and I just made it with the builtin python one (from the binascii module). So that's where we gotta look. Take a look at the "shortcuts.vdf" file found in ~/.steam/steam/userdata//config, there you can see all you custom added games and that's the file the extension looks to gather its data. From this, it's a matter of time to figure out how it works exactly, sadly the code ain't very unit-testing friendly so I can't quite extract pieces without some modifications to make it work, but hey, we're getting there. Once we figure out how to produce the integer, it's as easy as running steam steam://rungameid/<64bit integer>.
