place VS place-timelapse-2022

Someone made an "open-source recreation of Reddit's /r/place" except they use a modified version of AGPLv3 that prohibits charging for access (though ads are allowed). This case may be particularly interesting because the AGPLv3 says:

We have plans to add more features including: - Player controls (pause, rewind, and speed control) - A scrubbable timeline that will be more performant than those found on /r/place or /r/PlaceAtlas2 - A tool allowing you to select a rectangle and a timeframe to render your own small timelapse gifs - We are using the rplace.space data right now, but we plan to move to data from the official Reddit dump at some point

Even the "2000x2000 uncompressed" timelapse on rplace.space is totally compressed to hell, I am very tired of this. I spent an hour figuring out how to improve my download speed so I could download it. Reddit, please. Please give us this.

The command below takes the PNG image sequence (as obtained from rplace.space) and outputs a 2k output video, using lossless H264. The resulting video is about 688MiB large.
