Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.
VPS server unreachable within school network.
1 project | reddit.com/r/selfhosted | 29 Nov 2021
Probably an outbound firewall on the school network. Try hosting OpenVPN on port 443/tcp. You can set it up using PIVPN. I used to use this on public WiFi back when mobile data was more expensive and never had it blocked.

Remote access to your node
1 project | reddit.com/r/ethstaker | 18 Nov 2021
Check out pivpn. Run Wireguard. Very simple way to set up secure VPN access to your node’s network. Make sure to port forward the Wireguard UDP port on your gateway/router. Once connected to your Wireguard VPN you can ssh to your node. That way you’re not opening up an ssh port to the public internet. For ssh you should also be disabling password authentication and direct root login over ssh. Plenty of good guides out there for securing ssh.
Is there any reason why I should keep using a reverse proxy after getting a VPN working? How annoying is using a VPN with self hosted file management apps?
1 project | reddit.com/r/unRAID | 18 Nov 2021
Although as far as hardware, you can get a Raspberry Pi kit for about $80 and install something like https://pivpn.io/. I think if anything it's easier to set up than reverse proxy and the cost is not much more than any other server hardware upgrade.
Restore from backup
2 projects | reddit.com/r/pivpn | 14 Nov 2021
Backup created in /home/pi/pivpnbackup/20211114-152422-pivpnwgbackup.tgz To restore the backup, follow instructions at: https://github.com/pivpn/pivpn/wiki/WireGuard#how-can-i-migrate-my-configs-to-another-pivpn-instance2 projects | reddit.com/r/pivpn | 14 Nov 2021
But that link does not work, it must have been changed. I can't find any instructions on the pivpn.io site. Does anyone have a working link?

PiVPN will make it simple for you.
Adding a VPN to my PiHole setup?
2 projects | reddit.com/r/pihole | 8 Nov 2021
The best and easiest path for a person in your situation would probably be to just use the great script from the guys at https://pivpn.io/ project -- with the caveat that it is DANGEROUS to pipe directly to bash, so make sure you know what/who you are trusting before firing off a command of that nature.
Has anyone got Octoprint Firmware Updater working on their Aquila
1 project | reddit.com/r/VoxelabAquila | 5 Nov 2021
Hi, has anyone got Octoprint Firmware Updater (https://github.com/OctoPrint/OctoPrint-FirmwareUpdater) working on their Aquila? If so, what are the setting you have in here:
Wake up this morning and see this on my 3D printer (I use octoprint and now I’m scared)

Can't upload to printer SD card, direct serial connection from Raspberry Pi (not USB)

Here is a great thread about pretty much exactly this issue, assuming your pi is running octoprint: https://github.com/OctoPrint/OctoPrint-FirmwareUpdater/issues/175

SKR 1.4 Turbo will load firmware.bin from 128MB MicroSD that came with printer, but not from 32GB Samsung MicroSD
2 projects | reddit.com/r/BIGTREETECH | 7 Mar 2021
Bit of a odd one here. I can load firmware.bin (gets renamed to FIRMWARE.CUR) when I use the unbranded 128MB MicroSD card that came with the SKR 1.4 Turbo, but I can not load the same firmware.bin from a Samsung EVO Select 32GB MicroSD card. Both are formatted as FAT32. And I know what someone's gonna say, there's probably some arbitrary limit on the size that is compatible. Well, I can load GCode from the Samsung, and using the OctoPrint plugin https://github.com/OctoPrint/OctoPrint-FirmwareUpdater, I can successfully load firmware.bin from the Samsung. That plugin mounts the MicroSD on the RPi4, writes firmware.bin to the MicroSD card, then resets the board so the board can flash firmware.bin like it supposed to. And that works. But placing the firmware.bin from a computer onto the Samsung MicroSD won't work.
