I'd highly reccomended trying the program pipr , it shows a live bash output and is helpful for learning what various commands do (although this program has some protection from cmds like rm erasing entire major directories, if you do use it just be careful :-) )

Thankfully, I found Starship, a super fast, super configurable prompt written in Rust. It works with most shells, on most operating systems.

Agreed, I use this in conjunction with Starship [1], both initialized specifically for Fish in the config. I love this shell so much.

It seems like the Rust community is quite happy to support alternative shells. I’ve seen couple of projects, now, that support way more esoteric shells than I would expect, like ’xonsh’. Starship (https://starship.rs/) immediately comes to mind.
