Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

latex is nice for notes, but syntax is just too much, especially during lectures, perhaps try markdown? I'm also a student to uses latex quite a lot so I thought you maybe interested in the app I made, which simply translate markdown into latex and allows markdown-latex interop, so you can write in some complex part in latex while the simple part markdown.

The -of, -f, -a, and -d flags aren't even necessary, since you can configure the program using .json file which takes those flags and give them with default value that can be used, e.g. by default, the program will use the current date if no flag was given.
