packaging VS Docker Compose

musl wheel support was added some time ago:

No idea how many packages actually build musl wheels though. From a quick glance at least cryptography and lxml has musl wheels.

Python supports Alpine just fine; indeed, the standard Docker Python images include Alpine variants.

If you mean binary wheels, PyPA packaging added support for Alpine wheels a few months ago (https://github.com/pypa/packaging/pull/411), and auditwheel support for the same just shipped today.

You can use the packaging module to compare versions. It's used by setuptools so you probably have it already installed. The the rest is pretty straightforward imho:

In many projects that are containerized, especially in cases where development is also done locally with docker-compose, teams often have two Dockerfiles, 1 for Development, the other for Production. If you happen to have multiple environments like pre-prod, staging and so on, some teams could have different Dockerfiles for these environments.

You can also use Docker Compose to deploy the cluster, without having to write all the previous commands.
