What do u think about the app grid navigation (not the overview)
For me the current app grid is unusable, I'm not willing to organize apps manually. In GNOME 3 I was only using Frequent Apps page sometimes. Now I'm working on an extension that adds option to sort App Grid by usage (no folders) and also option to disable the app title truncate - Overview Feature Pack.

Dock or Activities overview? The Vertical Workspaces extension has evolved into V-Shell and offers custom Shell even for fans of horizontally stacked workspaces! This is just an example of possible configuration.
Also try my AATWS extension. It offers it's own dock mode with hot edge, can be triggered on any monitor and gives you direct access to apps and windows including full-size previews and search. The latest version in the GitHub repository also offers the workspace thumbnails.

How to display all apps in all workspaces?
Single app with multiple windows can run on multiple workspaces. If you want a list of all windows with the information to which workspace each window belongs, then my AATWS extension can help. AATWS can even sort windows by workspaces. And much more.
