For me the current app grid is unusable, I'm not willing to organize apps manually. In GNOME 3 I was only using Frequent Apps page sometimes. Now I'm working on an extension that adds option to sort App Grid by usage (no folders) and also option to disable the app title truncate - Overview Feature Pack.
