... or the dataview based database folder

I used Obsidian DB Folder for a little bit, and it had some more functionality in its displays, but it felt rather clunky and still not quite where Notion is at, so I fell back to plain Dataview eventually.

Google Keep for quick capture (simple copy-pasting links from mobile) and Notion for project management (although I think the Database Folders and Projects plugin can do a similar job)

You should separate your DBs into folders. And Use DB folder it's exactly what you want. Nicole van der Hoeven made a great video for beginners.

You can use Auto note mover to have files move into the right place automatically based on tags or the filename

\2. The one that is closest to achieving what you want is Auto Note Mover. It allows you to move notes based on a tag or regex match. But there's a few problems with it.

For moving a file when you update its tag, use the Auto Note Mover plugin!

I'm continuing to combine Dataview with some custom templates for my common document types with YAML metadata filled out, as well as Auto Note Mover so I don't have to think about where to put each new note, And that's looking pretty good so far.

You may also find the Auto Note Mover plugin useful. IIRC, this works on binary files as well as markdown notes.

I suggest the auto note mover plug in! Github link. I prefer it over tagfolder because it’s a bit easier to work with and you don’t have to use a specific view, it’s all done within the File Explorer and I’m guessing that would work better if you only want to sync a specific folder.
