tiles are no longer loaded
I wrote this app some time ago: https://github.com/strukturart/o.map which, as a standard, obtains the OSM map data: https://tile.openstreetmap.org/16/67934/46153.png. For a few days now I have been receiving the following error message when requesting: 418 No Reason Phrase. what could be the reason for this ?
- Is there an OSM API endpoint to geocode an address and get back a lat + long?

Firefox Finally Outperforming Google Chrome in SunSpider
Thanks for the mention! Capyloon (https://capyloon.org) had a grant from Protocol Labs (the IPFS stewards) in 2022 so we focused quite a bit on that indeed. We learned a lot - especially about the maturity and usability of the IPFS stack.
I'm still very bullish on the dWeb pieces: content based addressing, UCANs (https://ucan.xyz/) for distributed auth, new web app models (https://hackmd.io/@robin-berjon/tiles) to create an ecosystem that is not locked by centralized app stores.
There's a lot to do, all contributions are welcome (frontend, device ports, platform apis...). We have a Matrix channel (https://matrix.to/#/#capyloon:matrix.org) and you can try desktop builds easily following the steps at https://github.com/capyloon/nutria#quick-start

An unexpected revival of Firefox OS
It's open source, and all new code is released under AGPL. See the frontend repo at https://github.com/capyloon/nutria/ for instance.

Capyloon: An Experimental Web Based OS
It's a Web based OS, based on the boot2gecko/FirefoxOS stack. Images are available for Android based devices as well as "desktop" builds. Builds for the Pinephone and Librem5 linux phones are coming soon.
You can indeed use the desktop builds as a linux desktop shell.
An easy way to get started is to clone the https://github.com/capyloon/nutria repository and follow the "quick start" guide. Both Mac and Linux are supported.
