Pop-os acting up.
If you use hybrid graphics mode with an Nvidia card while the laptop screen turned off, it gets very laggy. It's a known issue with the Nvidia driver; https://github.com/pop-os/nvidia-graphics-drivers/issues/61. Switch to Nvidia graphics mode (open the quick settings on the top right, click the battery icon, then Nvidia graphics) when you're plugged in and it should work correctly.

Read this and found it too funny
Oh yeah? You know what else works out of the box? macOS. I have yet to find the mythical restrictions that some oldheads keep talking about. The usability is better too. By far. The only things that work better on Ubuntu e.g. Docker, can be offloaded to a VM and don't have to run on my personal machine. I don't take Windows serious for anything but .NET development and gaming. I don't care about out of the box compatibility. I don't mind installing an NVidia tool that handles the driver updates as long as it works well. pop_os is just not it: https://github.com/pop-os/nvidia-graphics-drivers/issues/135 Which takes us back to my last argument about the prayers befor every update.
