Ideas for GUI libraries?
most X11 functionality can be accessed via xgb|xgbutil (jezek has a current fork). nucular makes use of it via shiny. OpenGL and such libraries can be assumed to exist on those systems, so directly calling those c libraries without cgo is a possibility. Ebiten is currently working on it: purego.

Is golang for me?
There are a few pure go gui libraries. I like https://github.com/aarzilli/nucular

github.com/aarzilli/nucular should be listed!

Is there is good GUI for Golang ?
https://github.com/aarzilli/nucular - pure go for most platforms. no gtk, qt or other dyn linked libraries required. macos and mobile do require cgo iirc.

fyne Vs gio
you could try github.com/aarzilli/nucular. For most platforms it is pure go and uses the shiny backend by default. theres also a gio backend. I would try the gio one for android.

My pet project is a RAW photo editor that ships as a server, but also tries to provide a more "app" like experience on localhost (borrowing some principles from lorca).

wails.io - What's the catch?
Wails 2 seems great. I need to have a another look at it for my pet project. I've used something closer to Lorca so far.

Golang Gui
Have a look at lorca or, if you'd rather mess around something more complex than a basic sample, my app (which doesn't use lorca but follows a similar approach).
