The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Raspberry Pi radio alarm clock - part 1
We will need to desolder the LED display or source a compatible module. It's a Sanyo SL-1042-27T. It's a very thin module, so I suspect the driver gubbins is on a separate chip. I know very little about driving LED modules, so at this stage I don't know if I can just bit-bang it from a Node.js script or what.

I know programming coding is different to robotics coding but doesn’t JavaScript work for robotics as well?
After you learn python JavaScript should be easy to learn for you. I don't know much about robotics but there are some JS frameworks for IoT and robotics out there if you want to try, for example https://cylonjs.com/

I wanna Leaern JS but I kinda wanna talk to people who have done it before
As a general purpose language, it can be used for other things like desktop applications, robotics, and even an emulation of an operating system that runs in a web browser. However, these uses are much less common than its main usage, which is still for the "front-end" of a web page or web application.
What are some alternatives?
