In which programming language desktop app was written?
no library:) Electron clipboard.readText in combination with long polling techniques to get the changes. Instead of the long polling you could take a look on this solution but it does not work stable and need to be improved (https://github.com/sudhakar3697/node-clipboard-event)

I've been using https://github.com/streamlink/streamlink-twitch-gui for a while and it's really awesome if you don't care about the chat. It launches the streams through VLC and no ads whatsoever ! :)

Streamlink Twitch GUI gets around ads just fine. Just need that and something like VLC and you're golden.

Firefox 108.0 released
I would seriously consider using streamlink twitch gui application + vlc combo or addons like Alternate player for twitch. They both have waay less overhead and consume less CPU/RAM. (With alternate player you can use firefox's PIP functionality by SHIFT+RightClicking on the video)

How do I change CLI perimeters?
Twitch has fixed how they are sending embedded ads but if you have turbo you can link your twitch OAuth token to it and not get ads https://github.com/streamlink/streamlink-twitch-gui/issues/754
