It works great and is reasonably fast if you connect it over ethernet. If you have a newer firmware, which has already enabled the boot from SSD on your pi it is super easy (otherwise just Google how to set up boot from ssd with a microSD). Afterwards you can use the raspberry pi flashing tool to flash the image of nextcloudpi on your ssd. This includes the 64bit raspberry pi OS, a running Nextcloud instance and some other handy tools (like help to set up security features). Issue 2 still persists and after digging around found this issue reported on git https://github.com/nextcloud/nextcloudpi/issues/1752 but cant figure out how to sort it

Nextcloud is functionally similar to Dropbox, Office 365 or Google Drive but is self-hosted so you are in control of your data. This version is a lightly-forked version of NextCloudPi, which was developed for SBCs like the Raspberry Pi. Only a few changes from upstream and some SysV initscripts were required to get this working nicely in Linux Deploy.

I began to self-host a Minecraft server using Crafty Controller, an Excalidraw instance, Docmost to replace Notion, Plane to replace Jira, and Penpot to replace Figma. To be able to access them from the internet, I used Nginx Proxy Manager to set up reverse proxies with SSL. You can use Traefik or Caddy instead, but I enjoyed the ease-of-use of NPM. For a dashboard solution, I started with Homarr, but later switched to Homepage because I'm apparently incapable of making a decision and sticking with it.

Been using it for years and it’s been solid.

Most people will use nginx-proxy [0] or Traefik [1] for front ending home labs with LetsEncrypt certs... Beyond that people will protect them with things like Tailscale [2], Cloudflare Tunnels [3] or even just mTLS [4] for protected access.

Home labbing today has a lot of amazing software and it's hard to keep up!

And as for dashboarding [5] on top of all this there are a lot of options.
