Classic non-answer, but Netutils https://github.com/networktocode/netutils was built to solve this problem. It serves as the basis for golden config nautobot plugin https://github.com/nautobot/nautobot-plugin-golden-config which does that auditing, but perhaps you already knew all of this 🙂

Device configuration compliance checking
In short this is what I have so far: 1. Full config of a device where all IPs, hostname and Interface description are variable (domain name is always the same). 2. Python script that uses jinja2 to replace variables with actual values 3. (Which is what you are after now) Everything that contains variables above is then saved in a separate file and checked against running devices: credit to IPvZero https://github.com/IPvZero/nornir-test-compliance/blob/master/comply.py
