"--" command to skip track?
I wrote (many years ago mind you) a shell script to control mpv via the IPC socket. https://github.com/lwilletts/mpvc

Concatenate commands in keybindings
Perhaps you could have an mpv instance watching a playlist file in the background though. Like I got pretty far by first just launching an mpv instance with mpv --idle=yes --input-ipc-server=/tmp/mpvsocket, and then I could get that instance to play from a playlist stored in /tmp by sending commands to the socket with echo '{ "command": ["loadlist", "/tmp/your_playlist"] }' | socat - /tmp/mpvsocket. This all a bit advanced perhaps, but if you're interested. also take a look at https://github.com/lwilletts/mpvc

How to handle youtube playlists with mpv
I wrote a mpv interface script called mpvc that uses mpv's json ipc interface to open mpv and send it commands. Sounds to me like this could be a potential use case. if you download the videos using youtube-dl ie hotkey'd with qutebrowser first into a directory then use something find $PATH/directory | shuf | mpvc add it'll playback all the files in a random order. mpvc doesn't quite yet support playback from direct url but it's something that's been on my list for quite awhile.

Media Autobuild Suite "../meson.build:6:0: ERROR: Unknown options: "disable_json" "
Trying to compile an updated FFMpeg. Is there anyway around this current bug. I started by downloading the latest version of media-autobuild_suite (https://github.com/m-ab-s/media-autobuild_suite).

How to play xHE-AAC codec in mpv windows?
It's extremely rare to find a build with it since it's incompatible (license wise) with other libraries that are commonly used. So your only real option is to build ffmpeg and mpv yourself as non-free. You can use m-ab-s for that.

how to embed an exhale (xHE-AAC) lib (codec/decoder) into mpv (Arch Linux)?
Hi, I have a .m4a file that is encoded with exhale and I need to playback it in mpv. I can't get it to work in Linux, but i have a mpv executable on Windows that was build with this, and it works just great, any xHE-AAC files opens with mpv compiled by the suite. So, I need this functionality in Arch Linux, and don't know how to "glue" them because there is no suite for automating this process. Any ideas?

is there a windows build of mpv with frei0r fillter support compiled?
I don't know of any automatically-built mpv Windows builds with frei0r support, but if you don't mind building mpv yourself, check out media-autobuild_suite which can optionally build frei0r, ffmpeg with frei0r support and mpv using said ffmpeg

Inconsistent results on NEAV1E
When you are on Windows compiling is as easy as just running Media-autobuild-suite: https://github.com/m-ab-s/media-autobuild_suite This will take some time but in the end give you all the standalone binaries as well as ffmpeg with all the chosen options. After the intial run you can rerun it in some weeks to get a new build (this will be faster then).

Hi. I want to test VA-API or AMF with my RX 590
I dunno what is wrong with AMD for HW rendering with KdeNLive, maybe it is just bad and that is why it is not included on Windows? I have this repo that compiles AMF but it doesn't compile for me after long hours of downloading so I use ccache but I have tried again and it didn't. auto-build

Hardware accelerated encoding using AMD AMF on Windows
I'm trying to render a video using AMD's he264_amf or hevc_amf hardware encoders on Windows, but I can't seem to get it working. I know the ffmpeg and mlt versions bundled with kdenlive don't have AMF enabled, so I selected a ffmpeg version that I compiled myself using Media Autobuild Suite. This alone didn't do the trick and the log file states: video codec h264_amf unrecognised.
What are some alternatives?
