there's the mpv-mpris plugin which solves this btw
- mpv Gnome support

Media Controls Don't Show up in GNOME
afaik mpv doesn't support that itself but you can get most of the media control functionality with the mpv-mpris plugin
-
gnome-mpv/celluloid: please implement a one click gui option to mute e.g. right click on volume button
As I usually run mpv from the CLI or another program and control it via the keyboard, that doesn't sound like the wrapper adds anything I'd personally have a use for. BTW, controlling plain mpv via MPRIS just requires the mpv-mpris plugin to be installed.

Is there a reason why MPRIS is not natively supported?
Use the C plugin instead, which is still being maintained: https://github.com/hoyon/mpv-mpris

At least I find https://github.com/linuxmint/plymouth while it states "Mint 18". The current version may be https://github.com/freedesktop/plymouth.

GUI login for disk decryption (for runit)
I've been planning on encrypting all of my drives but if possible I'd like to have a GUI login screen to decrypt them. I saw that this is possible using plymouth. However, it requires systemd while I'm running artix with runit. Does anyone know of something like plymouth that works with runit?
