mpv-mpris VS Exquisite

there's the mpv-mpris plugin which solves this btw

afaik mpv doesn't support that itself but you can get most of the media control functionality with the mpv-mpris plugin

As I usually run mpv from the CLI or another program and control it via the keyboard, that doesn't sound like the wrapper adds anything I'd personally have a use for. BTW, controlling plain mpv via MPRIS just requires the mpv-mpris plugin to be installed.

I tried two tiling tools, Exquisite and Bismuth, but neither seems to be right for me. Mainly because they don't seem to work well on two screens.

Do you mean something like Fancyzones? If so, have you checked this out? Combined with this would be what you meant, right?

For a tiling assistant window, you can use Exquisite, and for a more full auto-tiling experience you can use Bismuth, as others have suggested.
