MPV is minimal interface for maximal play-ability. VLC is just good for what it was intended for; streaming video. Not to say VLC is all bad since it actually does feature a UI that makes it usable for boomers in a court scenario. Like I remember VLC always having weird visual glitches from time to time. MPV doesn't have a regular installation like you would expect with any normal program. You'd need to put it into /program files and use the https://github.com/rossy/mpv-install/blob/master/README.md .bat script to automatically set all your defaults.

mpv-install.bat isn't working.
rossy's original "mpv-install.bat" needs to be executed the way you describe, i.e. located besides the "mpv.exe" binary, but shinchiro's "mpv-install.bat" copy needs to be run in accordance to directory structure as found in the .7z and as shown above.

i assume you are on windows? there is a file called install.bat on the folder your mpv.exe file is, run that with the administrator privilege and it should set it up correctly, if your mpv archive file didn't have this you can also check this repo that might work for you

I don't get how to download at all
What I'm really wondering here is if I fucked up the tutorial, downloaded the wrong files from some wrong website or whatever went wrong and what I should do next. I also saw a zip-file on the github to download mpv. I also may have downloaded that one.
- In windows 11 Start Recommended section, when video files appear, they do not open with mpv, but another video player. Even when default video player is mpv.

Need help installing LFTP4Win
https://github.com/userdocs/LFTP4WIN trying to install this to get faster ftp transfers from my ultra seedbox that caps at around 500 kbps. Ive mostly set this up completely but i got an error that says windows cannot find mintty.exe in my LFTP4win-master folder. I cant figure out how to unpack and create mintty.exe and need help

Is Ultraseedbox's Sabra / Panzer plans good for Plex and casual seeding/FTP?
If they are refusing to migrate you, as a last option, before jumping ship, you should also try using a FTP client that supports multi-threaded & segmented FTP. This is a good solution for lftp if you're on Windows. You can read the readme for more information. lftp should improve your FTP speeds greatly.
