Ebitengine v2.4.0 released - Truly pure Go for Windows, DirectX performance improvement, etc.
Thank you for all the hard work! I used Ebitengine to build a simple visual element to a monte carlo simulation and really enjoyed it. I keep wanting to use it to make a video game with my kids but never seem to find the time. One day.

Which GUI platform and why?
+1 for Fyne. I've used Ebiten to create a graphical monte carlo simulation to estimate pi and really enjoyed it. But if the OP specifically mentioned Fyne, it sounds like they are looking for something with a bunch of built-in widgets which Ebiten doesn't have (to my knowledge) as it is focused strictly on 2d game dev.

Ideas for GUI libraries?
most X11 functionality can be accessed via xgb|xgbutil (jezek has a current fork). nucular makes use of it via shiny. OpenGL and such libraries can be assumed to exist on those systems, so directly calling those c libraries without cgo is a possibility. Ebiten is currently working on it: purego.

Is golang for me?
There are a few pure go gui libraries. I like https://github.com/aarzilli/nucular

github.com/aarzilli/nucular should be listed!

Is there is good GUI for Golang ?
https://github.com/aarzilli/nucular - pure go for most platforms. no gtk, qt or other dyn linked libraries required. macos and mobile do require cgo iirc.

fyne Vs gio
you could try github.com/aarzilli/nucular. For most platforms it is pure go and uses the shiny backend by default. theres also a gio backend. I would try the gio one for android.
