What's one app you are hosting that you unexpectedly find yourself using frequently?
Monica: Personal CRM where you can keep track of what you've discussed with for example co-workers. Especially nice if you are working in a large organisation
-
Email reminders not working on Monica CRM
Sorry, I'm not familiar at all with unraid but if you're using docker compose, everything you need should be here https://github.com/monicahq/docker/tree/main/.examples/supervisor/fpm - or go one folder up to use the deployment for apache for example.
-
Backing up Volumes
I created a stack using the instructions here ( Apache version). It works, I add contacts, they persist.
-
Open Source Personal Relationship Manager
As a matter of fact, Monica has an official Docker image here: https://hub.docker.com/_/monica
(I'm super proud to say that we have an official Docker image, official being the label the Docker granted us last year as they (Docker, the company) maintain it. There are not a lot of official Docker images, but we are part of it, and it's awesome)

Any recommendations for self-hosted software to help plan family events?
May be over-kill but it fits your requirements. It's a "personal CRM" https://github.com/monicahq/docker
-
Defeated - Can someone help me spin up Monica?
I tried it using their Apache version example here. I generated the key using the method in the directions they included and it worked fine.
-
Shitty documentation as a way to encourage paid usage
I dont't know anything about monicahq, but looking at the docker hub page, they have a section talking about using monicahq with a reverse proxy that references a lot of ready to run examples.

Container datetime is stuck
Very odd behavior from a container built on the MonicaHQ image. I'm using docker-compose on a raspberry pi to host this. Currently I've got a mariadb container, phpmyadmin, and monica. both the MariaDB and PHPMyAdmin containers seem to be pulling the date from the host correctly. The Monica container is set to 0 and it doesn't change. Its been sitting for a couple days

1 Year into my self hosted journey. Still a lot to go but here is my dashboard.

Cron a command inside a nomad allocation without running a new job?
I'm running Monica CRM as a webapp, and so I have a job constantly running. The container is designed for certain commands to be invoked from outside like docker-compose exec monica php artisan COMMAND. I think this would be similar to nomad alloc exec.

How to build an availability search UI with Elasticsearch
The easiest way to get started with Elasticsearch is to use the Elastic Cloud service. You can also run Elasticsearch locally using Docker.
-
Elasticsearch Cluster via Docker and Fleet Issues
hi all, installed elasticsearch cluster, and kibana, via the docker compose example found here: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/docker.html and the cluster and Kibana are working as expected.
-
Example of a 3 node production ready docker-compose for Elasticsearch?
I've started with the docker-compose example from the elastic documentation added a few things like restart on failure, but unsure what else to worry about.

How easy is Elasticsearch to run yourself? Just set it and forget it? Or does it need continuous care and tinkering?
We have been using an ES docker image that has been pretty hands off for ~2 years. Elastic has good doc on how to do this here: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/docker.html
-
Docker demo image
That would work, but then you copy everything, along with the container itself. There is a way to just copy the data over. From the page https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/docker.html, I see that /usr/share/elasticsearch/data is where the persistent data is kept within the container.
