The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Anyone have any cool solar power setups for your ESP32?
Distributed irrigation valve controller. Runs off of a 5W panel and charges a 18650 battery, controls a latching sprinkler valve, tubing ESPhome.

What are the odds this Esp32 solar powered irrigation contraption works?
Power budget is going to be your main issue, normal sprinkler valves take a lot of current and solar is unreliable. I’ve been able to get an 8266 to run in modem sleep (always available via WiFI) with a 5W solar panel by using a latching DC solenoid and some careful choice of low quiescent current components: check out the repo

Hi everyone. I’m planning to create an open source project to build an auto watering system.
Semi-related, check out my distributed valve project. It doesn’t solve the pump problem, but it does solve the low-power and flow monitoring requirements.

I'm desperately looking for a 12V electromechanical cabinet lock like this, but it needs to be able to withstand being locked/unlocked for an unlimited time and consume no standby power. Please and thank you very much :)
Sure, it's part of a Solar Irrigation Valve Controller that I'm working it. It's still a work in progress but the solenoid driver part seems to be pretty much finalized. It's meant to drive a 9V latching sprinkler valve solenoid which draws >1A when actuating, but only for a few ms.

Finally ordered the boards… what are the odds that it works the first time?
I was hitting “post” when your comment came in :). Solar-powered distributed valve controller

What are the odds this Esp32 solar powered irrigation contraption works?
I shouldn't have called it a callback. That's how I thought the RTC wake-up worked, but after reading more, it's very different. Here's an example of RTC wake up from deep sleep.
What are some alternatives?
