PSA: bitcoin.org is untrustworthy and newbies should not be directed there
Bitcoin.org is in the process of expanding from being a mere informational site and billboard for people to plaster their links on, to offering new users more tools than just information, like our own open source basic starter wallets which are in the works (https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/BitcoinWalletMobile), and fun fact, our wallet will be truly trustless, unlike Green. So our users won't complain about locked up funds. This is necessary for two reasons: to better compete against actively malicious or inadequate alternatives, and to expand the scope of the project to attract more contributions as a simple static can only get so many contributors. A more interactive "buy bitcoin" page better competes against the malicious alternatives.
