Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Why hasn't there been any real competition or true alternatives to the OP-1 in 11 years?
It has many quirks and some performance issues (low note resolution), but I made a web app that allows you to record MIDI notes on a tape since I wanted the same UX for my other synths: https://mortenson.coffee/midi-tape/

Hi all - I saw someone else post about Web MIDI so I figured people might be interested in this too. I made a 4-track MIDI tape recorder - basically something really simple you can use to compose full songs using one MIDI input and 4 MIDI outputs. I use it with my Roland MC-101 and set each output to a channel, as an alternative to sequencer-style composition. What is the easiest way to get music notation into TW?
There's http://musicsheets.tiddlyspot.com/ for ABC notation. It's hackable to some extent to get to use tablatures: https://github.com/paulrosen/abcjs/issues/224. Good luck!
