Latest status for microG, GPay, RCS, and sync not working. Everything else is fine
For CrDroid, flash the rom, then flash microG Installer Revived. I also tried flashing (on a different clean rom) MiniMicrog. Same results: GPay, contact sync, and RCS not working.

A solution I've found for most apps refusing to work
Honestly it was simpler than I imagined. It works even on Android 13 ROMs and I decided to try the flashable version of microG instead of installing the apps manually like I always did since the ROM I settled on refused to even install the GmsCore manually and there was really no other option after that. To my surprise several apps I've had trouble with not only worked flawlessly after the whole ordeal, they don't even show the missing Google Play Services error message anymore and neither do any other apps which rely on Google Play Services. Here's what I used: https://github.com/nift4/microg_installer_revived

Google Update Reveals AI Will Read All Your Private Messages
...will need to be rewritten to avoid Google Play Services.
Not true.
All that needs to happen is for open source developers to "re-implement Google’s proprietary Android user space apps and libraries".

microG itself connects directly to Google: https://github.com/microg/GmsCore/wiki/Google-Network-Connec...
No shit, of course they do.
>In general, we obviously try to minimize the connections to Google, but some services strictly rely on them and would just not work without.
What exactly do you think they should do instead?
