You mean emulators running on PC? It took some doing, but I finally got DS Download Play to work on MelonDS. First you need to get DS firmware files. I found one on Retrostic that did not work for me. Melon told me it was an old hacked dump, and trying to boot it just got me a white screen. I found another on the Internet Archive that works.

MelonDS is actually doing a lot of really cool stuff. I can't speak too much on the Android build, but on PC they have actually gotten multiplayer too work flawlessly and they are currently working on implementing netplay. You can keep up with their progress here

If you are on Windows you will need to install MSYS2 and this will make the process easier (which is why that's how they build it like that). Once installed open it and do: - pacman -S git (update git in MSYS2 with pacman) and then build the standalone execultable - git clone https://github.com/melonDS-emu/melonDS (clone inside the MSYS2 environment) - cd melonDS go into the folder and copy paste the last commands in the Static Builds section a few lines bellow

DeSmuME or melonDS for PC. Those are the two best ones out there. Mobile devices have nothing good at the moment, though.

Is there a way to get a modded version of DeSmuME to run on steam deck? The mod is found at https://github.com/LRFLEW/AM64DS_DeSmuME. I would love to play Super Mario 64 DS with analog controls on my tv rather than my computer.

I've posted this in the subreddit pretty much any time SM64DS gets brought up, but I might as well share it again. If you want full analog stick control in SM64DS, I made a solution I call AM64DS. There is currently a version for PC Emulation and Wii U VC. 3DS support is on my todo list, but probably will still be a while before I can get that working.

Also, (a bit of self-promotion), I made a mod for full analog stick support, as well as a Wii U compatible version.

This remaster made a lot of great changes, but this particular Mario really was meant to be controlled with an analog stick. I found out recently about this emulator mod that adds analog stick support: https://github.com/LRFLEW/AM64DS_DeSmuME/
