mechvibes VS homebridge-http-switch

I do not know if it the right place to ask this but i have actually browsed the other subreddits and this seems to be the most appropriate one. The title explains it, I do not really posses any programming knowledge other than the one time i have taken a python course. This program seems pretty cool and it is open source, I wonder if it is safe to use though ? I usually stop these kind of programs from accessing the internet since they do not need it but still want to be sure about it, do anyone know if it is safe or can check if it is safe ? What do you think about applications like Mechvibe (https://mechvibes.com/) in security terms? Someone using it or you completely aware of apps like this according to security reasons?

You don't really need a plugin specifically for this. You can use this software to do the job.

I've been using it all the time when coding or browsing the internet.(you should check Mechvibes out if you like keyboards too). But it started getting boring and I wanted an app that played clicking sounds too. So I made one. I called it clicket. It's made using the ElectronJS framework with React.

Have been looking at using https://github.com/Supereg/homebridge-http-switch to control the relay output on a video VOIP Door Panel, however the panel requires a challenge-response for commands. Has anyone used this plugin (or similar) with a device that needs a challenge response?

If you're willing to do a DIY project, I built one of these using some cheap components and an ESP8266 board. For hooking into my setup (currently just turns a device on/off), I just installed this plugin, which also allows you to store the state of the device. For what I need, this has worked pretty well, but this may not be for you if you're not interested doing anything on a breadboard, let alone soldering.

I found this project for building your own IR remote. I didn't bother setting up any of the Alexa stuff, so I just communicate to it over HTTP on my home network. I then installed this plugin to create switches to activate different IR enabled devices.
