If you haven't figured out an optimal fielding of your limited portals, input them into Ingress Maxfield.

Use a field mapping tool like MaxField not sure how it works not but you could basically map out your linking for maximum fields and XP

But doing this kind of thing solo usually means a lot of back and forth over the same area. The one time I did it, I biked 25 miles without getting more than 2 miles from home.
