https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/97673 is already known, however looking at https://github.com/Half-Shot/matrix-appservice-discord it seems, upstream did the last commit 8 months ago.

Be careful though. Discord is known to ban accounts that use unofficial clients. The bridge mentioned (matrix-appservice-discord) uses the official bot API so should be relatively safe.

I didn't set anything special up, I just installed element-desktop like you. I've used it for screen sharing many times without issue. Perhaps run it in a terminal and check the output, or search/create an issue on their github? https://github.com/vector-im/element-web

I'd recommend Element, which is built on Matrix. Element has an Enterprise offering as well.

Ah, the joy of open source.
Of the 20K issues on https://github.com/element-web/issues i can only find one where someone (indirectly) asked for this: https://github.com/vector-im/element-web/issues/17072. And it has no upvotes at all, and simply isn’t on our radar.
If this is a showstopper for you, please upvote it. (It’d also be a fairly easy PR if anyone wanted to help out).

Mount single file in container?
I'm new to Podman and containers and I'm trying to run an Element container. It comes with a Dockerfile so I built it as I would with Docker, but I'm having trouble trying to supply a custom config file. The repo says to "map a volume to /app/config.json" but I can't figure out how to mount a single file into a container, I can only mount an entire folder. I made a volume for this container just called element-vol and I'd like to store the config there if possible. Does anyone know if I can do this? Mounting the entire folder results in Element not loading.
