Chess-GPT's Internal World Model
There is a very interesting project on this exact problem called Maia, which trains an engine based on millions of human games played on Lichess, specifically targeting varying levels of skill from 1300 to 1900 Elo. I haven't played it myself, by my understanding is that it does a much better job imitating the mistakes of human players. https://maiachess.com

In general the goal of these progrms is to win, not to pretend to be human.
In chess, there is a project called Maia which aims at predicting the human move rather than the best move. Even then it blunders less than humans of a similar rating, so it can still be detected.

Has anyone here modded a DGT Centaur computer chess board?
I've owned a DGT Centaur for almost a year now and even though I think it's a cool product I've been researching ways to mod it. Recently I was excited to find online this project that "adds features to the DGT Centaur electronic chessboard, such as the ability to export your games via PGN files, use the chessboard as an interface for online play (e.g. Lichess), play engines, and emulate other chess boards such as the DGT Pegasus.". Adds WiFi, Bluethoot, among several other cool features. See link below. I already ordered the required Raspberry PI Zero 2 W. Anyone here tried this mod before?
