magic_mapper VS pihole-updatelists

You have to root your TV, but it is possible to disable the mouse pointer using Magic Mapper, and it can also be used to create shortcut buttons to those HDMI-CEC functions (such as a button to send the Home command to the XBox.

If you want to setup a shortcut on your remote to swap it, you would need root your TV and then you could use this to setup the remote shortcuts (note it doesn't have direct support for audio output switching yet, but should soon, or you could setup HA as mentioned above and then this can trigger HA automations): https://github.com/andrewfraley/magic_mapper

IF you want to use your magic remote to do this, you will have to root your TV. This project will support using a magic remote button to set a Dynamic Tone Mapping value. Alternatively, but still requiring root, in the WebOS HomeBrew store there is a project called LGInputHook that can also do this.

I rooted my TV and reprogrammed the remote so that the channel up and down buttons control the oled backlight, also made one of the color buttons cycle the energy savings mode. The channel buttons to change brightness is killer, though.

I'm using this fork of the official pihole docker https://github.com/jacklul/pihole-updatelists. This docker image by default contains the block lists form https://firebog.net/, but only the safe ones that shouldn't affect web browsing which is what I've seen the past few days I've been running it.

I'm using https://github.com/jacklul/pihole-updatelists to take care of that, recommended.

You configure black lists in pihole that block the pertinent domains. There are even adding you can install that will keep the black lists updated (https://github.com/jacklul/pihole-updatelists)

Hello fellow unRAIDERs. I’ve got Pihole up and running no issues. I’ve seen suggestions for “The Firebog” (https://v.firebog.net/hosts/lists.php) as extra URL’s to add to Pihole. One was wondering general consensus are people doing and like the results? And for the unRAID specific question I did a quick search for the “pihole-updatelists” (https://github.com/jacklul/pihole-updatelists) in the apps section so wondering if anyone has been able to automate this process on their unRAID server. It seems to me initial look like that would be almost necessary to not create lots of extra work. Thanks!

I had to look back at my configuration. I actually build a container with Unbound and it uses https://github.com/jacklul/pihole-updatelists to auto update block lists with firebog.net lists.

Especially if you use something like jacklul/pihole-updatelists
