Animotion – a visual CSS animation app
Worth mentioning that After Effects can export CSS/SVG/canvas animations with the free bodymovin/Lottie plugin. This is my personal go to for creating web key frame animations and elements.
Not every after effects feature is exportable, but it’s the best and most reliable solution I’ve found for this type of workflow, maybe due in part though to my previous experience with AE.

Develop Animated Splash Screens on Fire TV with Lottie
A smooth and visually appealing on-boarding experience can greatly impact how users perceive the quality of your app. In my previous article, we explored how to create custom splash screens on Fire TV apps to optimize the startup time and improve user experience. Building on that knowledge we will take a step further and learn how to develop an animated splash screen using Lottie for Fire TV applications.

Ask HN: Are there things that Flash did that we still can’t do with today’s web?
Lottie[1], an Adobe After Effects plugin, fills a gap in vector animation authoring and is quite widely used (primarily in mobile applications but also works on the web, Discord for example supports them for stickers).
It's a pity SVG animation authoring tools never eventuated since it's an underutilized native format.

Oldhead here - what has replaced Flash for highly interactive, complex animated content?
Unity can export to WebGL/WASM, so that's one option if you're making some kind of heavy interactive experience and you don't mind waiting for it to load. For just animations there are tools like Lottie that can help. I think things are generally a lot more fragmented than they were in the Flash/Shockwave days though.

Kirov and her MK-3-180 turrets as memorial in Saint Petersburg (my photo from 2021)
Not really, but it's still 100% playable. There's a fanmade English patch which I've heard is pretty damn good. That said, it's 100 playable without. The UI has a decent bit of icons/English depending on settings, so it's not to hard to figure out. The wiki is great and updated faster than the AL one. I knew jack shit Japanese when I started playing way back when (like 1 semester's worth), and it didn't take long to figure out the basic controls. You do need some kind of VPN for the initial sign up, but after that you can handle it with something like KC3Kai which also keeps track of quests, battles, drops, etc. It's just a Chrome extension, and it helps a lot. On mobile, you can use Gotobrowser to play, tho at least personally I prefer KC3Kai.

USS Iowa veteran's opinions on KanColle's Iowa
Outside of registering, yeah there's an fanmade English patch for it. GotoBrowser is an Android app for the game that works great, dodges the VPN requirement, and also has an English mode. Personally, I use KC3Kai, which is a Chrome extension. It makes actual gameplay a lot easier and basically counts as a VPN. It's super handy, and I'm 100% not biased because I've got it open in another tab as I type this.

[help] I got this notice and I don't know what it means, Plz help
Some VPNs are blocked, but most are free and you only need to use it to enter a server. It needs to be set to Japan. I'd recommend getting GotoBrowser rather than the official app, and turn on "Gadget Block Bypass". Also, do you have a PC? It's more comfortable to start there. Let me know how it goes.

[Help] Former player coming back to the game after 6 years.
As far as playing on your phone, do note that the phone version uses the same account as the browser one; no need for a lottery or new account at all. Most people I know who play on their phones, however, use GotoBrowser, though I personally don't play on my phone. Of note is the fact that GotoBrowser technically uses the desktop browser client.
