Every official Session community hosted on the getsession.org domain, as well as the official websites (https://getsession.org, https://oxen.io) are unreachable as of now. https://lokinet.org seems to have issues as well.

I2P is different from Tor and I hope we see something like Lokinet integrated into a filesharing client soon.

Why is https://github.com/hyphanet/fred linking to the "next" branch which is still the Java version? Where is the code for the new Rust version?

It’s not the same team. The Freenet Team is developing Hyphanet now.

Ian had not been active in Freenet development for over a decade (he managed the non-profit but didn’t interact with actual development) before he started Locutus. He initially started Freenet in 1999, but had long been absent.

Instead of use of Blockchain you could also use Freenet . The only bad thing here data could be lost, but mostly only data is lost when not used. This could be used to auto purge forks that most people dislike. If for example some reason there are multiple alternatives how the story goes some of them will die after a while and removed from system.
