one midi controller, 2 devices question (mk II head with a multi FX pedal)
I don't know what features either the MIDI Mouse or the Gecko M III have, but you're right that if the device doesn't support sending out multiple MIDI program change commands at once, it's not going to work. I've done this sort of thing with software, sending a MIDI command into a computer using mididings to receive the input messages and then generate multiple output messages, but to do that you need a computer of some sort as part of your rig, and enough technical capability to be able to get it all working.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing linux-show-player and mididings you can also consider the following projects:
py-meltysynth - A SoundFont MIDI synthesizer written in pure Python
musicpy - Musicpy is a music programming language in Python designed to write music in very handy syntax through music theory and algorithms.
Mediapipe-VR-Fullbody-Tracking - A repository using the MediaPipe API for fullbody tracking in VR with a single camera.
basic-pitch - A lightweight yet powerful audio-to-MIDI converter with pitch bend detection
mov-cli - Watch everything from your terminal.
MIDItoOBS - (Pre obs-ws 5!!) A python script to use one or multiple midi input device(s) to control OBS-Studio functions without wasting keyboard hotkeys (including some sort of macro support) from anywhere in the network. "Waiting for a nativ implementation since 2017."
