When root on ZFS breaks on Arch Linux
The Arch derivative CachyOS[1] has ZFS-enabled kernels by default. And their repos can be added to existing Arch installs[2], so I've found this a nice way of working around the non-ideal state of ZFS integration in Arch. (Plus their kernel choices have other interesting features.)

Any progress about official support for x86_64_v3?
You can also use the CachyOS repos which have packages compiled with LTO as well.

Custom kernel 6.2.0 CachyOS has landed in Fedora 37 :)
Yes, here's the GitHub issue: https://github.com/CachyOS/linux-cachyos/issues/82
- Recommendation on steam os or nobara
- What do you think about custom kernels like xanmod, zen and tkg (Desktop)?
-
Any differences between DXVK_FRAME_RATE, mangohud's fps_limit, libstrangle, and gamescope's -r, especially in regards to input lag and frame stability?
in regards to that link, it looks like that person was running a cachyos kernel, ive never ran this kernel though but again any one of these kernels should be better than the default kernel.
- Filesystems- better options than ext4?

Tried to update and shut down my PC and now I get this. What's the deal?
It comes in either a bootable ISO or an EFI file. I'd recommend putting Ventoy on a flash drive and loading either the EFI file (listed as "Binary Files" on the page) or "Linux ISO w/ Grub" versions from that. This will wipe the flash drive, but you can just drag and drop ISOs or whatever into a folder and boot them without something like Rufus or Etcher. It's quite nice to have on hand either way for things like reinstalling Windows or booting tools.

Got some questions about system stability
I've been having some weird issues such as Discord restarting itself and browser tabs crashing randomly. Originally I thought I was having some issue with Electron related programs, but the more I Google the more I see "test the ram" so I finally did. For context, my hesitation on testing ram is I haven't had a game crash or act weird once, outside of normal Linux things (Pop!_OS), it's just been browsers and Discord. Anyway I downloaded memtest86, the ISO version from here and flashed to USB using Popsicle. I got these results.

To the PC gamers of Better Ask Reddit: How do you do it?
Memtest86+ to check your RAM. A tutorial here.

Need help with random reboots
You might want to check for memory problems. You can create a bootable thumbdrive with the memtest86+ installer at https://memtest.org/
-
Desperately need help, frequent program crashes
What I would do is create a bootable thumbdrive with Memtest86+ installed. You can read about it and find the download link at (https://memtest.org) . What you'll be downloading is the program to install memtest86+ on a thumbdrive.

B650E-F non functional.
That's good advice, especially when having many issues. RAM can be finicky (due to official specs, platform it's targeted for and timings) I usually test new ram configurations using an USB stick with memtest86+ on it (free from memtest.org). Some 7000 series CPU's seems to have trouble running RAM at 6000, and even though 6000 seems to be the norm, it is considered overclocking and the official specs are:
-
X670E Hero ram slots A1&A2 wont work after 3days of no electricity
Additional step is to boot Memtest86+ and see whether the system behaves as expected. Is the status of the different memory slots reported correctly?

Consistent total system crashes on PC
Check if the cooling is not clogged up with dust, check if the PSU is rated comfortably above what your CPU and grfx card are supposed to draw. You can also check if you have bad Ram with this. For stresstesing your system you can use this.

Laptop abruptly powers off during live trial of fedora.
Sounds like a hardware fault. Run a memtest. If that passes without errors, your motherboard might be dieing.
