Made a thicc basestation to reduce noise
There's a setting under power management that will fully power down the motors when asleep. If you are hearing these things in VR, you have a faulty base station or ears like superman. Mine are only audible in an otherwise completely quiet room. On occasion, a power blip will cause them to turn on. For that, there's an app on Android (someone may have ported to iOS) called Lighthouse PM. For PC if ya have a bluetooth adapter there's https://github.com/nouser2013/lighthouse-v2-manager.

How to turn off steam base stations
If you have android there's a Lighthouse Power Management app, it's still in beta but I've been using it without any major issues. LPM also mentions Manager for V2 Lighthouses by Valve/HTC if you require a desktop app but I've never used it.
- Hi, so I got my first headset vive pro 2 on friday. So I have 2 questions:
-
Been searching for hours, how do I turn off 1.0 base stations automatically without an index?
Desktop: https://github.com/nouser2013/lighthouse-v2-manager
-
Is there an option to only turn the base stations on when I'm in SteamVR?
If you have Bluetooth on your PC (built-in or usb dongle) you can use this tool to control the lighthouses outside of SteamVR: https://github.com/nouser2013/lighthouse-v2-manager
-
is there a better way to turn off the lighthouses?
On Linux someone made python scripts to turn them off and on, there is a windows version as well you may have a look on this github page: https://github.com/nouser2013/lighthouse-v2-manager/

Connecting base station 1.0 to steamVR not working, pls help?
So yeah, unless you're taking brand new base stations that need to be updated to the latest firmware you don't need to worry about bluetooth. If you're trying to make the connection so they can be powered down remotely, it's possible to use a phone app to do this and there's also a [github app](https://github.com/nouser2013/lighthouse-v2-manager) for windows that may work.
- Does anyone know how to put their 2.0 base stations to sleep with a pimax headset?

Lighthouse Switch with GUI for users who mix VR headsets with Vive wands
This takes code created here lighthouse-keeper and adds a GUI layer for ease of use.

Why can't this be added to PiTool?
I had this one working in the not too distant past: https://github.com/rossbearman/lighthouse-keeper

Introducing MixedVR Manager – automatic, reliable lighthouse control
Take a look at Lighthouse Keeper. Buddy of mine /u/tetracyclic made it (it's responsible for all lighthouse management in MixedVR Manager). The source is Python, so you could download the Python script, then package it in two bash/zsh/python scripts that just execute the "on" command or "off" command for your lighthouses.

HP Reverb G2 - Lighthouse 1.0, Virtual Builds Dongles - Trackers are permanently on
However you can do it this way yourself, either using the command line app Lighthouse Keeper, MixedVR Manager (which automates it when you turn the Index controllers on or off, along with a number of other features) or the phone app Lighthouse PM.
-
Can you easily switch between Index and normal WMR controllers?
For sure, and thank you for contributing to open source. Feel free to take a look at MixedVR Manager's code to see if you can contribute, or to Lighthouse-keeper's code, there's an issue I want closed before I update the new binary being used in MixedVR Manager.

Started a .NET Project to manage Lighthouse
I'm not sure quite why the library won't let you write directly, as that's what I do using Bleak which uses the .NET/UWP Bluetooth library on Windows.
