Is "Open Drive" safe flatpak/snap?
It appears to be a dead project that no longer works according to this issue reported at the project's github site. https://github.com/liberodark/ODrive/issues/171 Also the flatpak has not been updated in over a year.

Try not to share your files directly from Google Drive client. Instead, create a personal Google Drive index for your share. I have created one from scratch and it's quite easy to learn. I recommend you use goindex.

PSA for those with Google Drive accounts with large amounts of unencrypted media. 2PB of data probably lost with no backup.

Can someone download files from internet on request for archive purpose?
you will have to combine youtube-dl and rclone using a scripting language like python to scan for new videos and to download to your server and upload them to your cloud storage. You can also extend that to capturing youtube live chats, comments etc. and probably share privately using goindex
