Bad performance KVM - QEMU
Since we have a pretty similar setup, you can also look at my vfio repo: https://github.com/lennard0711/vfio
vfio-pci-bind
-
GPU passthrough via thunderbolt
That's exactly what I do. I use this way and works perfectly. https://github.com/andre-richter/vfio-pci-bind
-
Kernel oops (null ptr dereference) when passing through PCI USB
Before booting the VM, I bind the card to vfio_pci using andre-richter/vfio-pci-bind.
-
PCIe card will not bind to vfio
I just have unbinding/binding vfio a shot and it works perfectly. I used the script from here https://github.com/andre-richter/vfio-pci-bind
What are some alternatives?
KVM-GPU-Passthrough - This is a simple, mostly automated guide to pass a GPU through to a VM.
vfio - A script for easy pci and usb passthrough along with disks, iso's and other useful flags for quick tinkering with less of a headache. I use it for VM gaming and other PCI/LiveCD/PXE/VM/RawImage testing given the script's accessibility.
auto-xorg - Automatically set the proper video output given a video device (VGA) is unavailable due to hardware-passthrough (VFIO) or any other reason, in the X.Org display environment for a Linux machine.

single-gpu-passthrough - A guide to explain and instruct regarding hidden yet performant Linux virtual machines
libvirt-hooks - Install scripts (hooks) of which extend and enhance the functionality of Libvirt Virtual Machines (VMs). Hooks may be per VM, run at VM start or stop. Develop your own!
