System76 Virgo Aims to Be the Quietest yet Most Performant Linux Laptop
This is very exciting. After Dell and HP dropped out over the past year, I've been waiting for a company other than Lenovo to build a well-designed laptop with a pointing stick. I'm glad that System76 is taking the community laptop suggestions to heart (implementing a Thinkpad-style TrackPoint is the top suggestion by number of thumbs up: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions/issues/25).

System76 Teases Their “Virgo” In-House Manufactured Laptop
System76 is still collecting laptop design suggestions here:
https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions
The most popular suggestion (by number of upvotes) is to add a TrackPoint style pointer:
https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions/issues/25
I hope they deliver.

Oryx Pro users: have you used external monitors without the dedicated GPU on Oryx Pro?
I'm planning on buying an Oryx Pro, so I decided to go through system76's GH to see if anyone had posted any issues about the model. I recently noticed that there's a very old issue open on System76's repo for laptop suggestions (here: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions/issues/139).

Is System76 planning a fanless ultrabook similar to Macbook Air?
Add your support to open suggestions (issues) here: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions. S76 doesn't design any laptops themselves currently, but this is their way of gathering feedback on what we're interested in for whenever they do.

hardware kill switch microphone
A browse around the internet generally leads to purism and framework, but these are well designed manufacturer's solutions and I am looking for some good old DIY experiments. Several searches yielded no results, and according to https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions this is a much desired feature.

Why would someone buy a Linux laptop (System76/Slimbook/Tuxedo) instead of a same price Thinkpad?
S76 does not design their current laptop inventory but they are collecting feedback for when they do. Share your feedback: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions

System76 "in house laptop". Anyone else waiting?
No time immediately. S76 design and manufacturing has only just got to a mechanical keyboard. Less significant than that is the thelio chassis and I/O board. They seem to be taking this seriously and building up their capabilities. You can track and provide suggestions for their laptops here though: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions

How likely is it to ever see a 2in1 Laptop from System76?
Add the suggestion and/or support someone else's suggestion here: https://github.com/system76/laptop-suggestions
