[How-to] pass an object into effect from configuration
I have been maintaining a window inverter for some time. I wanted to implement white and blacklists for windows. I wanted to make the lists configurable from settings like effect shortcuts. I am looking something like a text bar which I json parse. I looked at KActionCollection and action classes which I have used before for making effect shortcuts configurable. I don't know if they can be used for what I am looking to do. Thanks

How do Chrome extensions impact browser performance?
You can force light themes instead and flip the colors in KWin. This will make text look worse than doing this in CSS, but it's basically free performance-wise.

Aside from that, I found that using blue light safety glasses (e.g. Uvex) reduces the pain I get from white flashes significantly.

How to use ksnip application to save screenshots in JPEG XL on Windows
Download qjpegxl.dll and qavif.dll and copy the DLL files into imageformats folder.

Does rav1e Perform Lossless AVIF Compression Better Than libaom?
Found the solution! Download the jxl image plugin dll from here and put it in D:\Dropoff\XnViewMP-win-x64\XnViewMP\plugins\imageformats. Now XnView will properly decode JXL files with .jxl file extension and show thumbnails in the app. It decoded a 50 MP lossy JXL (4:4:4 I believe) in 2 seconds with my 9100F CPU.

FFmpeg now supports JPEG XL, should be available in the next release.
KDE's KImageFormats plugin for Qt supports JXL, though this may not be enabled on your distro. If it is, Qt image viewers like Gwenview can be used to view JXL files. If not, there's another plugin available, which may be available in your distro or you can build it yourself, which also enables programs like Gwenview to use JXL.

Using JPEG XL in PhotoQt v2.3 (Windows 64-Bit version)
Original PhotoQt v2.3 can be easily enhanced to display JXL images on Windows just by adding qjpegxl.dll plug-in.
