    Polarity doesn't have to be fixed, and with the right tools, you can change the polarity of a recording after the fact - see for example, PolarDesigner:

    Whats most interesting to me is that the technique used in PolarDesigner can be applied to any dual-diaphragm capsule microphone, assuming you know a few co-efficients that can be plugged into the open source of our plugin .. but of course, you'll get the best results out of the box with an OC818..
