Anyone Doing This With Gentoo?
I saw a video on Kubler awhile back, haven’t had time to try it yet. It looks promising for creating SaaS containers.
- Can gentoo be as small and secure as alpine?
-
How is Aarm64 support? I was considering building my own setup based on gentoo in a vm on my m1 MacBook air.
Here is link number 1 - Previous text "bug"

Why do you choose to use gentoo as opposed to other distributions?
Already done: https://github.com/edannenberg/kubler

BTW: There is currently a bug, that was introduced by a recent change in user.eclass introduced recently. There is some back and forth with Gentoo devs and the developer of Kubler. It's fixed if you use the live Ebuild. This is a general issue that might break anything installed with ROOT variable being set while using Portage. So it might also affect you, if you create the images on your own.
What are some alternatives?
smart-live-rebuild - Update live packages whose remotes have changed
portage-overlay - Extra ebuilds for Gentoo systems, mostly packages fixed to work with musl
container_builder - This project builds containers images using Ansible. The containers are defined as hosts in the Ansible inventory. They are generated using host and group variables, templates and local connection.
viperML-overlay - Gentoo’s portage overlay with packages for personal use.
SkiffOS - Any Linux distribution, anywhere.
cutefishos-overlay - CutefishOS is a Linux Desktop Environment, I would like port to Gentoo Linux
distrobox - Use any linux distribution inside your terminal. Enable both backward and forward compatibility with software and freedom to use whatever distribution you’re more comfortable with. Mirror available at: https://gitlab.com/89luca89/distrobox
quickgui - A Flutter frontend for quickget and quickemu.
distroless - 🥑 Language focused docker images, minus the operating system.
