https://github.com/Und3rf10w/kali-anonsurf better option than the other comment, but bottom line is you shouldnt be touching tor if you are trying to be truly anonymous. the trick to being truly anonymous is to appear as unanonymous as possible to the servers/resolvers you end up on.

Resolve .onion address on C++?
As for as I know I modified some script of Anonsurf to make it work for Ubuntu 18.04, I was enabling all traffic to route through tor. All the traffic regarding DNS queries from port 53 were routing through tor, and tor was resolving all the .onion addresses itself. Take it look here at line 137. I hope it will give you an idea.
