    So basically because you're killing Kodi, it has to look for those updates on startup. If you leave it running (and as long as the websocket connection stays active), it should automatically sync updates as they happen. There's a bit more that could be done here, but at the moment a lot of the reason for huge updates comes from the server and I can't stop that client side. (More on that here and in the linked issue if you're curious).
