Anyone else having issues with trakt syncing?
for the last few weeks my Jellyfin trakt plugin has not been syncing to trakt. It seems similar to this issue but that says the plugin was fixes in plugin version 21 and I'm on 23, I'm also on the latest version of Jellyfin. Importing works fine but exporting my Jellyfin state to trakt fails even when run manually from the Scheduled Tasks page.

Confessions from a Plex Convert - A (Relatively Simple Feature Set) Wishlist
A few things, I'll try to keep it short but insomnia is whooping my ass so forgive any prattling. * I'd recommend something like Trakt, Goodreads, Libib, etc... for tracking stuff. I know it's a bit of app creep, but scope creep is real for a project as ambitious as Jellyfin. Plus there's a Trakt plugin to sync your watch states. Haven't used it, so I'm unsure if it integrates enough for you to create a "wish list" per se. Other apps like the *arr stack (Sonarr, Radarr, Readarr -- for ebooks and audiobooks, Lidarr) are a great way to track what you have and what's missing. You can even have those tools create empty folders for content that doesn't exist yet, but that seems....messy. * I agree with u/AngrySilverback710 that a library is probably the best route to go. Parental controls works, however, it's only as good as your metadata and I've seen posts here before where the slideshow screensaver still shows artwork/posters from restricted content. While not a huge deal, I'm not sure I'd want my kids to randomly see the poster for Terrifier 2 right before bed. I have kids libraries and this setup has worked quite well for me. * Another plug for the *arr stack, though, with Radarr and Sonarr you can tag media en masse, which you can then restrict within Jellyfin's user settings (per user basis). Additionally, if you create empty "library" folders, you can use Radarr/Sonarr to migrate all of your media to the new libraries automatically with a root folder change. * There is a feature request out there, probably more than one. I hate to keep harping on the *arr apps, but there is a file management option with Sonarr/Radarr to change a file's date to the local or UTC release date, which would give you the most recently-release media in the Latest sections. * Downloads are a sore spot for me, unrelated to your comments. There's a feature request for the official Android mobile client to support what I'll call "download subscriptions", but it doesn't appear to be implemented. One of the last comments says that Findroid supports this behavior, but I have not used that client so I can't vouch for its maturity or feature set. This is the one complaint I don't think there's a better solution to be had and would need to be implemented by the Android/iOS teams or a third party.

Trakt pluging sync is quite behind the actual watching progress
Reason I was monitoring it so heavily is because I had issues with tracking before: GitHub issue
- Trakt Plugin Version 16 Released - Fixes major UI slowdown, progress sync, scheduled task bugs.
- Set up recording shows with Trakt lists

I'm fine with the basics of Plex - now what can I do to really use plex to it's full potential?
The last tool is PlexTraktSync. This will be able to sync your Plex server with your Trakt account 2-ways instead of only 1 way (and then also only "scrobble" with the Plex Webhook). An example of how I use it: PlexTraktSync has two modes, running "normally" in which the sync is happening once and a "watch" mode which scrobbles the currently watching states to trakt. I run in watch mode all the time but then also run a sync once a day. What this will do is that Trakt will automatically be updated with what I currently watch but when something is missed it will be updated the next sync. And since it is a 2-way sync, I can watch something (and it is updated on trakt that I watched it) and then rate it on trakt and the next day that rating is also set in Plex again.

IMDB Trakt Watchlist/Rating Syncer Tool (sync both ways)
I spent some time working on this tool called IMDB-Trakt-Syncer which syncs user watchlist, ratings and comments for Movies, TV Shows and Episodes both ways between IMDB and Trakt. Also syncs episode ratings. You can use this script alongside PlexTraktSync and TMDB-Trakt-Syncer to get your ratings syncs across all 4 platforms! It should work on any OS. The project's Github repository and source code can be found here.

Ratings after file renames
That is why I use PlexTraktSync to automatically push my watched status and rating to Trakt and also pull it from there (2-Way Sync) so that it isn't exclusively available in Plex (because of the already mentioned "when metadata gets deleted, everything is gone")

Plex-Trakt-Scrobbler
Did you read the documentation? It's two way sync plex-to-trakt and trakt-to-plex. Look at config if isn't disabled https://github.com/Taxel/PlexTraktSync/blob/main/plextraktsync/config.default.yml

Sync watched in one profile into other profiles?
My tentative plan is to use two instances of PlexTraktSync to have one directional sync from our shared Plex profile to our individual Trakt profiles (if we watch something together in Plex mark it as watched for each of us in Trakt) and then two more instances for one directional sync from our individual Trakt profiles to our individual Plex profiles.

API?
PS : I know that there is alternatives PlexTraktSync data I did not got running because Docks would not work properly (Windows environment), Plex Scrobbler that demands VIP and PASS, this might be a solution but im not paying just to try it out, Plex-Trakt-Scrobbler that is a old plugin since 2018, there is no longer any support for plugins, it might be able to install it anyway but it may not work properly.

TMDB Trakt Rating Syncer Tool (2 way sync)
I made another tool called TMDB-Trakt-Syncer which syncs ratings for Movies and TV Shows both ways between TMDB and Trakt. Also syncs episode ratings. You can use this script alongside PlexTraktSync and IMDb-Trakt-Syncer to get your ratings syncs across all 4 platforms! It should work on any OS.
