How import wavelet preset to Equalizer APO?
For auto-eq try one of the followiing: https://github.com/iwalton3/AutoEq/tree/master/results_ief_with_bass or https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq#usage . For the second part you can easily add that by using graphics equalizer option in eqAPO. For auto-eq easiest way is to download the wave file of matching bit rate and use convolution filter.

On ear headphones for sleeping
Go with a wireless earbud. Should provide most comfort. Wires get tangled up during sleep. And tweak it using autoEq profiles here: https://github.com/iwalton3/AutoEq/tree/master/results_ief_with_bass. My policy for daily beater is something that I can live with replacing. What I would do is decide on a price range first and find few that interests you. Then look up frequency behavior that is most compliant with IEF Neutral Target provided. The less you have to tweak to sound natural mastering environment the better off you are. The site will give you options for implementing tweaks based on platform. Happy hunting!

gaming headsets
Here is a super budget setup I have. I use $5 Panasonic RP-HJE120 or RP-HJE125 with equalizer APO to correct the frequency behavior using autoEq from https://github.com/iwalton3/AutoEq/tree/master/results_ief_with_bass. I prefer In-ear Neutral target over Harman for whatever reason. Then I do some tweaking for Bass and Treble with appropriate reverb depending on situation using free VST: https://www.meldaproduction.com/MConvolutionEZ. And since I want surround. I use Dolby Atmos for headphones. You can use Windows Sonic for free or something like HeSuvi for eqAPO. On top of that for those 2.0 and 5.1 sound sources, I use upmixing using: https://sourceforge.net/projects/stereo-to-7-1-converter/ with rounded 3D scene. for 5.1 to 7.1 is somewhat unnecessary but if you are a nerd like me you can use: https://github.com/Dogway/emulation-random/blob/master/EqualizerAPO/Surround/Dolby_Digital_5.1_(7.1_augmented).txt.txt). Honestly, for the price and as a daily beater I can roll around in bed with and sometimes break, I love it. I do have more expensive earbuds/sets but honestly after all this, I only break those out for special occasions.

Hi! Sorry I'm new here but how would I set this up. Corsair Virtuoso. I don't know what this is or how to set it up
Those presets are for tweaking the sound source, not at all related to the characteristics of your headphone. I tend to think of two different eq, one for the source and the other for my headphone. For headphone look for oratory1990 results or Harman/IENeutral Autoeq profiles. https://www.reddit.com/r/oratory1990/wiki/index/list_of_presets/, https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq#usage and https://github.com/iwalton3/AutoEq.

Easy Effects: Audio effects for PipeWire applications
Very useful program, but god the UI is so bad..
As if it was designed for a touchscreen interface, and yet still poorly done, doesn't respect your aspect ratio, wastes ton of empty space, and the transition animation looks jarring
Gnome UX is killing the linux fun to me..
They want to clone the macOS UX, but they don't understand what makes it great..
Look at this beauty of an UX: https://eqmac.app/

Does the graph translate to Db's? Let's say to I need to add 10db of bass at 20hz to get a neutral sound?
eqMAC is the one I found. I have no experience with macs but it appears to have all the audio features you're gonna want. I recommend never ever using gaming headphone software, it is rarely good.

SOLUTION to Big Brother'd Work Laptop Audio (with video)
Get some Schiit products and a volume controller. Paired with my Klipsch The Fives, it sounds like butter! Soooooooo smooth!! On my home machine, I use eqMac and that works perfectly. On my work laptop, my company won't let me install 3rd party apps. 😢 In the vid, I shut off the equalizer to compare sound differences.
What are some alternatives?
