I made a thing! WiFi IR blaster / environmental sensor for Google Home air con control. First time hand assembling 0402 passives and pretty pleased with how it turned out!
I set up the web server and MQTT broker using Google Cloud services based on this example, but you could use any internet-accessible server to handle the Google Home requests and send them to your device with whatever transport protocol you like.

There is Alexa for windows, and Google Assistant (Unofficial, discontinued afaik).
-
Cortana is getting dumber and its voice is getting less realistic. What is going on Microsoft? What do you guys think about it
You can

Windows 10 with a Windows 11 theme (kinda)
Oh yea Here: https://github.com/Melvin-Abraham/Google-Assistant-Unofficial-Desktop-Client Some features doesn't work but I still find it slightly usefull.
-
Anyway to use Google assistant on WSA? Clicking on settings is taking me to windows settings.
Though it doesn't directly assist here, you could always go the native route: https://github.com/Melvin-Abraham/Google-Assistant-Unofficial-Desktop-Client
-
What Android apps do you think is useful to have running in WSA?
Technically possible without. Good enough to control the lights in my home at least
-
An unofficial Google Assistant client for Linux/macOS/Windows
No, you don't have to compile the code, there are downloadable .exe , .dmg., .deb files for Windows, macOS, and Linux respectively on the release page here .
Here's the link to the original project on GitHub - Google-Assistant-Unofficial-Desktop-Client , I'm using this for a week, and it comes very handy when I had to search for something, or control any device while studying, so I don't have to look for my phone.
-
